Mr. de Chapeaurouge is a partner in the corporate law firm DE CHAPEAUROUGE+ PARTNERS , with offices in Frankfurt, Hamburg, London and New York; and is admitted to practice in Frankfurt and New York, with German law degrees from Frankfurt University, and further degrees from Columbia Law School (LL.M.) and Harvard Law School (S.J.D.).
Mr. de Chapeaurouge practiced for 20 years with respected firms (Skadden Arps, Jones Day, and Germany's Wessing) in Paris, New York, Chicago and Frankfurt – in the later stages as Corporate Finance and Banking Department head - before establishing a Practice of his own in 2005.
He is concentrating on corporate and transactional matters such as Corporate Governance, shareholder activism, securities, non-consensual and negotiated mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate finance, (cross-border) capital markets, commercial lending, business reorganization, restructurings and workouts - from a distinct client life- and business-cycle vantage point; he remains current in the respective German and U.S. corporate practices, and also follows UK legal developments; he serves as trusted counsel to Governments and their sub-divisions, multilateral agencies, technology companies, public and private corporations and other entities, family offices, financial institutions, asset managers, trading houses; and investment groups (venture capital, private equity, and hedge funds).
