Mr. Joseph H. L. Chan, JP

Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, The Government of Hong Kong SAR



Mr Chan was appointed the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury on 16 August 2017.


Mr Chan has many years of senior executive experience in the banking industry. He was a Managing Director in the Global Markets Division of Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank, and was a Managing Director in Financial Markets of Standard Chartered Bank.


Prior to joining the Government, Mr Chan held multiple roles in a number of public and professional bodies, including Vice President of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts, Director of Hong Kong Securities & Investment Institute, Advisor of the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society, as well as a General Committee member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. Mr Chan was also a member of the Central & Western District Council.

Mr Chan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Hon) and Psychology from the University of Michigan, USA. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Dr. Eva Chan

Chairman, Hong Kong Investor Relations Association

Head of IR, C C Land Holdings Limited


Dr. Chan is the Head of Investor Relations of C C Land Holdings Limited (stock code: 1224). She has more than 25 years of experience and was the CFOs and company secretaries of various listed companies in Hong Kong. She is mainly responsible for formulating the IR strategies for the company and conducting meetings with investors and fund managers all over the world. She also leads in a number of corporate finance exercises and corporate restructuring activities.


Dr. Chan is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Capital Environment Holdings Limited (stock code: 3989) and is appointed as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Accounting and Finance of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.


Dr. Chan graduated from the City University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. She then earned her MBA degree from the University of Nottingham. She also obtained a DBA degree from the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. She is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association, a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries, a fellow member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Ms. Christina Bao

Managing Director & Head of Global Issuer Services, HKEX



Ms. Christina Bao, Managing Director, is currently the Deputy Head of Market Development Division and Head of Global Issuer Services at HKEX. 


Ms. Bao joined HKEX in 2016 as the Chief of Staff and report to the CE of HKEX. She was mostly responsible for the general coordination at the senior management, planning and oversight on strategic projects.


Prior to joining HKEX, Christina held a number of senior positions at Ping An Bank (previously at Shenzhen Development Bank, which merged with Ping An Bank in 2010) since 2001. At Shenzhen Development Bank, she served as Chief of Staff to the Chairman and CEO from 2005 until 2010, in charge of strategic projects, IR, PR. After the merger and integration of the two banks, she headed Retail e-Banking, Service & Marketing, and the Retail E-Finance SBU for Ping An Bank.


Ms. Bao received her Master of Business Administration (Finance, General) from Peking University.

Mr. Steve Lin

Director of Corporate Finance & Company Secretary, Xiaomi


Steve Lin is the Director of Corporate Finance and Company Secretary for Xiaomi Corporation. Steve Lin has 14 years of experience in business consulting and investment banking. Prior to joining Xiaomi, he worked at McKinsey&Company from July 2005 to August 2008, Macquarie Capital Securities Limited from September 2008 to August 2010 and Deutsche Bank Group from September 2010 to February 2018.

 

Steve Lin received his master's degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara and bachelor's degree in engineering from the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of National Taiwan University.

Dr. Michael Chen 

Founder, Gelonghui


The works of Mr Gelong include but not limited to Dictionary of China Finance(中国金融大辞典), Convertible Bond Investment and Financing-- Theory and Practice (可转换债券投融资—理论与实务), H Share Investment Guidebook (H股投资指南) and On Hunting the Maker (猎庄说). Mr Gelong was awarded as Best Researcher in the first New Fortune Selection and the 'Industry Model in the Past 15 Years' in the 15th New Fortune Selection. He was one of the pioneering overseas investors in China, and accumulated over 20 years of experience in cross-market investment in China and abroad. One of the funds under Mr Gelong' management won the second prize in terms of annual performance among all public funds of the same type in China. Mr Gelong has worked for the three largest funds in China and the biggest Chinese insurance company in Hong Kong respectively, where he worked as researching director and investment director, managing an asset of over 100 billion RMB. Mr Gelong has rich experience and insightful views in the investment in China and abroad, including A share, Hong Kong stock and the U.S. stock.  

Mr. Philip Li CFA

Senior Fund Manager, Value Partners Limited


Mr. Philip LI is a Senior Fund Manager of Value Partners, where he is responsible for the Group's investment process and portfolio management, as well as investment team's operations and communications. He joined Value Partners in May 2010 as a Fund Manager and was promoted to the role of Senior Fund Manager in January 2015.


Mr. LI has broad experience in the industry. Prior to joining Value Partners, Mr. LI was a Portfolio Manager at GAM, overseeing managed portfolios and marketing to Asian clients. He had also assumed various portfolio management and marketing roles at Alliance Bernstein and INVESCO.


Mr. LI graduated from University of Michigan with a Bachelor's degree in Business from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. He is a CFA charterholder.

Mr. Rajiv Biswas

Executive Director & Asia-Pacific Chief Economist, IHS Markit


Rajiv Biswas is Executive Director and Asia-Pacific Chief Economist at IHS Markit. Rajiv previously worked as Director for South-East Asia for The Economist Group. His previous experience includes working for UBS as Executive Director for Asia-Pacific Country Risk and for the Royal Bank of Scotland as an international economist. He has also worked for an international organization, the Commonwealth Secretariat, as a senior economist in the International Capital Markets Department. Rajiv's experience also includes working as a consultant for the United Nations and the Asian Development

Bank. 


Rajiv is a graduate of the London School of Economics, for the B.Sc.Econ.Hons. in Economics, and received his M.Sc. and D.I.C. from Imperial College at London University. Rajiv has published widely on a range of economic, trade and investment related topics, with over 100 published articles. He frequently speaks at international conferences on the global and Asia-Pacific economies, including at World Economic

Forum and Euromoney events as well as at United Nations conferences. He regularly appears on international TV programs, including for the BBC, CNBC, Bloomberg, Channel News Asia, CNN and Al Jazeera TV. 


He is the author of "Future Asia", published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2013, "Asian Megatrends" published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2016 and "Emerging Markets Megatrends" published by Springer/Palgrave Macmillan in 2018.

Mr. Edward Soon

Head of Corporates, IHS Markit


Edward Soon is the Head of Corporate Solutions at IHS Markit across the APAC region. He leads the business responsible for providing investor relations advisory, data analytics and corporate governance advisory services to listed issuers across the region. Edward joined IHS Markit from Ipreo, a company which was acquired by IHS Markit in 2018.


Prior to this, Edward held senior leadership positions in Thomson Reuters, Computershare and Georgeson, overseeing their commercial expansion across the region. With over 20 years of experience in the data, analytics and financial technology industries, Edward has held general management roles spanning product management, strategic business development and corporate advisory.


Edward holds Master of Laws from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the same institution. He also holds a Certificate in Investor Relations from the UK IR Society.

Mr. Luke Waddington

Luke Waddington is the CEO of BluefireAI, which is democratising AI-machine intelligence across capital markets through the delivery of revenue generating signals that super charge human behaviours or asset understanding. Luke has 20+ years' experience in the capital markets space, where he has taken responsibility for large regional and global business lines with some of the leading financial firms in the industry. Luke has a deep track record in business transformation and business disruption, he is currently working on AI based programs to address structural pressures in both sell side and buy side businesses.

Mr. Raghav Kapoor

As Smartkarma CEO, Raghav drives product strategy, oversees technology development, and maintains a hands-on approach on the company's day-to-day operations. With Smartkarma, Raghav set out to reinvent how investment research is sourced, priced, and distributed.


Before Smartkarma, Raghav was a Managing Director at Religare Capital Markets from 2010 to 2014. He joined Religare upon the successful exit of Aviate Global (Asia), where he was a Founding Partner. Ms. Natalie Kahn

Natalie Kahn has been the CEO of Euroland IR Group since 2015. The company works to improve stock listed companies' IR communication through Best Practice web modules.


Natalie has a keen interest in GSE and sustainability issues, as well as compliance. Her long experience with IR has led her to champion transparency and honesty within the industry.
