The Investor Relations Annual Symposium will be organised on 13 December 2022, with the theme of "ESG and Beyond".


This half-day event will bring together hundreds of guests from the local and overseas IR industry, investment community, as well as C-levels and senior management representatives of listed companies, and other finance market elites.


IR specialists and industry experts will gather to exchange insights and stimulate lively discussions on the latest and most relevant topics in the industry, aiming to provide advance IR knowledge and skills, inspire C-levels and IROs for their professional challenges, and promote sustainable development of the IR industry as an indispensable part of the Financial services in Hong Kong.

Eva Chan

Chairman of HKIRA

 

Dr. Chan is the Head of Investor Relations of C C Land Holdings Limited (stock code: 1224). She has more than 25 years of experience and was the CFOs and company secretaries of various listed companies in Hong Kong. She is mainly responsible for formulating the IR strategies for the company and conducting meetings with investors and fund managers all over the world. She also leads in a number of corporate finance exercises and corporate restructuring activities.

Dr. Chan is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Capital Environment Holdings Limited (stock code: 3989) and Xtep International Holdings Limited (stock code: 1368) and is appointed as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Accounting and Finance of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Chan graduated from the City University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. She then earned her MBA degree from the University of Nottingham. She also obtained a DBA degree from the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. She is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association, a fellow member of the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute, a fellow member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Dr Wong is the Chairman of the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council and a member of Operations Review Committee of Independent Commission Against Corruption. He is an Executive Director and a Deputy Managing Director of COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited. He is also an Independent Non-executive Director of two listed companies in Hong Kong.


He was a Non-executive Director of Securities and Futures Commission (2012- 2018), the Chairman of Investor and Financial Education Council (2017-2018), the Chairman of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors (2009-2014), a member of Financial Reporting Council (2015-2018), a convenor-cum-member of Financial Reporting Review Panel (2013-2016), a member of Standing Committee on Company Law Reform (2010-2016), a member of Main Board and GEM Listing Committees of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (2007-2013) and a member of Auditing and Assurance Standards Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (2006-2008).


Dr Wong holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Andrews University in Michigan, USA, and a Doctor of Business Administration degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Wilfred Yiu

Wilfred is Chief Operating Officer and Co-Head of Markets of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). He is also Chief Executive of HKEX's wholly-owned subsidiaries, The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited.


Previously, he was Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Beijing Gao Hua Securities Company Limited, and Chairman of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Qian Kun Futures Co Ltd. Prior to that, he was Head of Credit Structured Products for Asia at Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C.


Mr Yiu served as a governor for the board of the Dalian Commodity Exchange in China from 2015 to 2017.


Mr Yiu is a member of the Securities Compensation Fund Committee of the Securities and Futures Commission, and a member of Education and Development Committee of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute. He is also a member of the Supervisory Committee for the Tracker Fund of Hong Kong,


Mr Yiu is an adjunct professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is also an advisory board member of Research Institute for Business of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, and Professional Fellow of the Honours Academy of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.


Mr Yiu earned a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stanford University and an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.

She also worked as Corporate Finance Manager at Esprit Holdings Limited, Senior Manager in Financial Planning & Analysis at Sino Land Company Limited and Senior Manager in Assurance at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Luna holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Prior to Xtep, she held various management positions in reputable listed companies including Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group Limited (1929.HK) and Li & Fung Limited.

Miranda Carr

Miranda Carr, who joined MSCI in January 2021, is Global Head of Applied ESG & Climate Research, covering ESG & Climate integration into portfolio construction and investment strategy. She also has a focus on the key issues and developments in ESG & Climate in the Asian region, including developing ESG integration frameworks for key APAC clients.   


Prior to joining MSCI, Miranda was Senior ESG Analyst at Haitong International, one of China's largest securities companies, where she worked from 2015-20 and launched their 'ESG in Asia' research product. Before that, she spent 8 years analyzing Chinese government policy and investment strategy as Head of Research for an independent research company, NSBO, in London/Beijing.


In 2003, she obtained an MSc from Bayes Business School (formerly CASS Business School), where she focused on Socially Responsible Investment.

Angus Guthrie

Angus Guthrie has 40 years' experience in the energy and utility sector, including 20 years in Investor Relations in Australia and Hong Kong. A geophysicist by training, Angus held a number of technical, management and commercial roles in the energy and utility sectors before working on the listing of Origin Energy in 2000. He move into Investor Relations for Origin in 2001 and built the function as the market capitalization of the company increased from around A$1 billion to A$15 billion. In 2008 Angus was awarded Best Investor Relations Officer in Australia by peer vote. He joined the Board of the Australian Investor Relations Association (AIRA) in 2009 and was Chairman of AIRA for two years from 2011 to 2013. He left Origin and joined the CLP subsidiary EnergyAustralia in 2012 before moving to Hong Kong and heading the Investor Relations program for CLP from 2014 to 2022. Angus holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Adelaide. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and is a Panel Member and Fellow of the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association.

William's contribution towards research is his in-depth knowledge on the TMT and semiconductor sectors.

Mr. Will Chung leads the Fixed Income Investment team at China Everbright Assets Management and has been Portfolio Manager for Everbright Dynamic Bond Fund and Everbright Convertible Opportunities Fund. He has over 20 year of industry experience in Asian fixed income, quantitative equity, and structured finance investments. Everbright Dynamic Bond Fund has received the HFM Asian Performance Awards 2021 as "Best Fixed Income, High Yield & Distressed Fund".

Prior to Everbright, Will served as Head of Public Investment for a major Chinese private endowment where he was responsible for multi-strategy absolute return investments across major asset classes. Before that, Will was the former Head of Tactical Asset Allocation at Shin Kong Life where he oversaw an US$35 Billion of global multi-asset class portfolios. Shin Kong Life received "Institutional Investor of the Year" at "The 2006 Asian Investor Achievement Awards".


Prior to his investment career, Will has served at the Boston Consulting Group, AT Kearney and Arthur Andersen in the areas of strategic consulting and transaction advisory. Will received his bachelor degree in professional accountancy in The Chinese University of Hong Kong and his MBA from Columbia Business School with beta gamma sigma honor.
