The Investor Relations Annual Symposium will be organised on 16 December 2024.


This half-day event will bring together hundreds of guests from the local and overseas IR industry, investment community, as well as C-levels and senior management representatives of listed companies, and other finance market elites.


IR specialists and industry experts will gather to exchange insights and stimulate lively discussions on the latest and most relevant topics in the industry, aiming to provide advance IR knowledge and skills, inspire C-levels and IROs for their professional challenges, and promote sustainable development of the IR industry as an indispensable part of the Financial services in Hong Kong.

Dr. Eva Chan

Chairman of HKIRA

 

Dr. Chan is the Head of Investor Relations of C C Land Holdings Limited (stock code: 1224). She has more than 25 years of experience and was the senior management of various listed companies in Hong Kong. She is mainly responsible for formulating the IR strategies for the company and conducting meetings with investors and fund managers all over the world. She also leads in a number of corporate finance exercises and corporate restructuring activities.


Dr. Chan is Independent Non-Executive Directors of three companies in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and is Adjunct Professors of The City University of Hong Kong and The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.


Dr. Chan graduated from The City University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in

Accounting. She then received her MBA degree from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. She also obtained a DBA degree from The Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. She is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association, a fellow member of The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute, Chartered Governance Institute, Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Mr Chan was appointed the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury on 16 August 2017. Mr Chan has many years of senior executive experience in the banking industry. He was a Managing Director in the Global Markets Division of Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank, and was a Managing Director in Financial Markets of Standard Chartered Bank. Prior to joining the Government, Mr Chan held multiple roles in a number of public and professional bodies, including Vice President of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts, Director of Hong Kong Securities & Investment Institute, Advisor of the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society, as well as a General Committee member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. Mr Chan was also a member of the Central & Western District Council.


Mr Chan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Hon) and Psychology from the University of Michigan, USA. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst

Ms. Vanessa Lau

Vanessa Lau has been the Group Chief Financial Officer of

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited since 2020. In addition to this role, she was also appointed Co-Chief Operating Officer on 1 March 2024. She brings 30 years of global finance and capital markets expertise and has taken on various leadership roles since she joined HKEX in 2015.


In her current capacity, Ms. Lau oversees a broad range of responsibilities, from spearheading the Group's strategic direction, to overseeing HKEX's trading and post trade operations in Hong Kong. She also leads the Group's finance operations globally, including financial and management reporting, investor relations and treasury.


Ms. Lau has worked at multinational firms in the US, Europe and Hong Kong. She started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, and later as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company. Vanessa took on her first CFO role at the age of 35 at Alcoa's subsidiary, Global Rolled Products, based in New York and Geneva from 2007-2011. She subsequently was appointed as a senior research analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein in Hong Kong.


In addition, Ms. Lau has served as an independent non-executive director at Swiss Re since April 2023.


Ms. Lau holds an MA in Mathematics & Computation from the University of Oxford. She is a chartered accountant, having qualified with The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

He was a member of the Investment Committee of the Hospital Authority Provident Fund Scheme (2016-2022) in which he led the effort in promoting ESG integration for an investment portfolio exceeding USD 8 billion. Dr. Cheng actively engages in ESG and green finance research. In addition to publishing on Green Bond, he received various research donations and grants related to ESG and financial services for over USD 1 million. He is also a coauthor of a book chapter titled “Fintech Unicorns” in The Palgrave Handbook of Fintech and Blockchain, 2021.

    Kelly joined Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) in 2013. She works within the Policy and Secretariat Services Unit of the Listing Division, and has been involved in HKEX’s major listing policy. She has been leading the corporate governance, diversity and ESG regulatory initiatives in recent years. Kelly is currently a member of the Sustainability Committee and the Sustainability Advisory Panel of the Financial Reporting Standards Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also an advisor to the Climate Change Framework for Building and Construction initiative under the Sustainable Development Committee of the Hong Kong Green Building Council.

    Prior to joining HKEX, Kelly was a senior associate practicing corporate and securities law in Hong Kong. Kelly graduated from the University of Hong Kong with two bachelor's degrees in Business Administration (Law) and Laws. She is a qualified lawyer in Hong Kong and in England & Wales.

Prior to Hazelview Investments, Daniel was an Analyst of global real estate securities at 4IP Management AG, an Analyst of global real estate securities at Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. Feon Lee is the Director of Investor Relations at AIA, the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group. She joined the company in 2010 and leads a proactive investor outreach programme aimed at enhancing AIA's reputation in the capital markets.

 

Prior to her tenure at AIA, Feon served as the Investor Relations Director at Lenovo Group. She had also worked for multinational public relations consultancy firms in Hong Kong.

 

Feon holds a Master of Business Administration from Oregon State University in the U.S. and a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communications from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has been a member of the HKIRA's IR Panel since 2018.

Mr Eric Yau has over 20 years of experience in investor communication, investments, corporate finance and strategy. Previously, he held the position of Chief Strategy Officer at Link REIT where he oversaw the development, communication, execution and sustainment of corporate strategic initiatives as well as all functions covering external affairs and stakeholder management, including corporate affairs and marketing, investor relations, sustainability and corporate finance.


Prior to joining Link, Mr Yau worked as an investment banker and corporate manager in DBS Asia Capital Limited, CLP Holdings Limited, UBS Investment Bank and Jardine Fleming. He also serves as a member of the Examination Committee of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute. Mr Yau holds a Master degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, a Master of Arts degree from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University.
