The Investor Relations Annual Symposium will be organised virtually on 8 January 2021 at HKEX, with the theme of "Investor Engagement: To Infinity and Beyond".


This half-day live-streaming event will bring together hundreds ofguests from the local and overseas IR industry, investment community, as well as C-levels and senior management representatives of listed companies, and other finance market elites.


IR specialists and local experts will gather to exchange insights and stimulate lively discussions on the latest and most relevant topics in the industry, aiming to provide advance IR knowledge and skills, inspire C-levels and IROs for their professional challenges, and promote sustainable development of the IR industry as an indispensable part of the Financial services in Hong Kong.

Dr. Eva Chan

Chairman

Hong Kong Investor Relations Association


Dr. Chan is the Head of Investor Relations of C C Land Holdings Limited (stock code: 1224). She has more than 25 years of experience and was the CFOs and company secretaries of various listed companies in Hong Kong. She is mainly responsible for formulating the IR strategies for the company and conducting meetings with investors and fund managers all over the world. She also leads a number of corporate finance exercises and corporate restructuring activities.


Dr. Chan is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Capital Environment Holdings Limited (stock code: 3989) and is appointed as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Accounting and Finance of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.


Dr. Chan graduated from the City University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. She then earned her MBA degree from the University of Nottingham. She also obtained a DBA degree from the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. She is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association, a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries, a fellow member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Wilfred Yiu

Wilfred is Managing Director and Head of Markets for Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited. Previously, he was Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Beijing Gao Hua Securities Company Limited, and Chairman of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Qian Kun Futures Co., Ltd. Prior to that, he was Head of Credit Structured Products for Asia at Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C.


Wilfred served as a governor for the Board of Dalian Commodity Exchange in China from 2015 to 2017, and is currently an advisor for the Strategic Advisory Committee of Dalian Commodity Exchange. He is an adjunct professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.


Wilfred earned a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stanford University and an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.

Ms Wong is an Executive Director and the Head of Oversight, Policy and Governance of the FRC. She has been with the FRC for over 10 years. Ms Wong has extensive regulatory knowledge and experience in financial reporting and auditing. She is a former member of the Financial Reporting Standards Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA). Prior to joining the FRC, Ms Wong worked in the HKICPA and an international accounting firm. She is qualified as a certified public accountant and a certified internal auditor.

Jason Oury

Jason Oury, Managing Director, leads IHS Markit's Global Issuer Solutions Advisory business, overseeing over $50M in revenue with a team of over 200 employees and analysts operating in multiple, international locations. This division has become the largest, organically grown investor relations service provider in the history of the industry. Jason's organization services over 1,000 corporate clients, helping them help them turn investor relations into a competitive advantage by providing effective workflow solutions and critical market intelligence. Before being acquired by IHS Markit in 2018, Jason joined Ipreo in November 2006 as a Director in the Global Markets Intelligence group, servicing a diverse mix of clients in several sectors, where he acted as a trusted adviser to senior management and investor relations departments. Before joining Ipreo, Jason was an Associate Director on Thomson Reuters' market surveillance team, providing crucial ownership and investor intelligence to investor relations departments in both the Biotech and Energy sectors. Jason graduated from Fordham University's Master's program in International Political Economy, and earned a BS in Finance from the University of Rhode Island.

Duncan Aitken

GM Office Director and Group Sustainability Officer

Duncan is the GM Office Director and Group Sustainability Officer, and is currently responsible for foreign Investor Relations for Grape King Bio (GKB). GKB is the largest Taiwanese health food supplements manufacturer with a history spanning more than 50 years. He has been working for GKB for just over 8 years and has been actively engaging with foreign investors for the past 7 years in his current role. Fluent in Chinese, Duncan is one of a very few non-Taiwanese IR professionals working for a traditional Taiwanese company which has helped bridge the gap of communication with the FINI community. Duncan is also responsible for the GKB Group ESG. Prior to working for GKB, Duncan worked for Volkswagen Group UK for 10 years in various roles from HR, CSR and IT software projects. In 2006 Duncan's CIPD thesis was on CSR which at the time was a very new concept being included into Corporate world.

He joined Shimao Group in 2018, before which he worked in China Vanke (2202.HK, 000002.SZ) as IR Partner, and Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical (0338.HK, 600688.SH) as Deputy Director of the Board Office and Representative in HK. He is now based in Shanghai.

Michael Miller, Director, IR Advisory, is an IR veteran with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is focused on providing innovative solutions and actionable intel to clients through IHS Markit's unique product and service offerings. Additionally, he is responsible for global thought leadership initiatives. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Michael spent 5 years abroad as Head of Investor, Media & Public Relations at National Bank of Abu Dhabi. Before that, he held leadership roles at leading global institutions including BNY Mellon, Dun & Bradstreet, Arthur Andersen and T. Rowe Price. Michael earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting at University of Delaware and an MBA in Finance at University of Maryland. He is a CFA charterholder.

Flora Wang

Flora Wang is Director, Sustainable Investing for Fidelity International.


Based in Hong Kong, she leads Fidelity International's engagement efforts with investee companies in Greater China on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues. Flora also works closely with Fidelity's portfolio managers and analysts to conduct ESG analysis on these companies to enhance decision making.


Flora joined from BlackRock where she was the head of Investment Stewardship for the Greater China markets. Prior to joining BlackRock, she held the role of Head of China and Taiwan Research at Institutional Shareholder Services.


Flora holds a Master of Science in Finance from the Lee Kong Chain School of Business at Singapore Management University and a Bachelor of Art in Economics from Tsinghua University. She is also a CFA charter holder.

Catharine Wong

Catharine heads the Tricor Investor Services and is responsible for the IPO and Share Registry.


Prior to joining Tricor, Catharine was the Head of Depository and Nominee Services in HKEX, responsible for overseeing the daily operation and business development of all the depository, IPO and corporate action processes in HKEX. Highlights include implementation of the China Stock Connect, re-engineering key processes in the Central Clearing and Settlement System and leading the discussion on the Uncertificated Securities Market (USM) operation model.


Catharine has over 20 years of experience and has held various operations, client relations and business management positions in major international banks. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of New South Wales, Australia, a Master's degree in Applied Finance from Macquarie University in Sydney and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).


Catharine is currently the Executive Committee Member of the Federation of Share Registrars Limited (FSR) and a member of USM Working Group led by the Joint Working Group, including Securities and Futures Commission, HKEX and FSR.

Mr. William Fung is Group Vice President of AMTD Group and CEO of AMTD International, responsible for strategic development of financial services related businesses at AMTD. Mr. Fung also has extensive experience in arranging and structuring international capital markets transactions. Prior to joining AMTD, he worked at UBS AG Hong Kong, Nomura International (Hong Kong) Limited and Lehman Brothers Asia Limited. Before that, Mr. Fung also practiced professional engineering in the United States. Mr. Fung received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Science degree in Financial Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Ambrose Lee

Mr. LEE Siu Ming, aged 44, joined VPower Group in early 2017 as Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Capital Markets/ Corporate Finance. Mr. LEE is responsible for formulating the overall strategy of VPower Group and in charge of the overall capital markets, financing and corporate finance activities of VPower Group, including fund raisings, merger and acquisitions, investor relations and ESG matters. In 2020, Mr. LEE received the Best Investor Relations Officer Award by Hong Kong Investor Relations Association (HKIRA).

 

Mr. LEE has over 20 years of experience in investment banking and asset management in Greater China. He was with BOCI Asia Limited from 2009 to 2016 with last position as a managing director and head of Hong Kong coverage overseeing the investment banking operation in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he held various positions at Morgan Stanley Asia Limited, Deutsche Bank AG, Hong Kong Branch and BNP Paribas Peregrine Capital Limited, etc in Hong Kong, where he led and participated in corporate finance and capital markets transactions. Mr. LEE has been the independent non-executive director, chairman of the remuneration committee and a member of the audit committee and nomination committee of Impro Precision Industries Limited (listed on the Kong Stock Exchange, stock code: 1286) since April 2019. Mr. LEE has become a director of Myanmar Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2020.

 

Mr. LEE obtained his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees at University of Wisconsin — Madison, the United States in December 1997 and May 1997 respectively. In addition, he has been a CFA® charterholder since May 2001.

Amy Luk

Investment and Investor Relations Director

Ms. Luk is responsible for identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities, overseeing the capital structure and investor relations of Champion REIT. She has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry. Before joining the REIT Manager, Ms. Luk has been involved in equity research covering the Hong Kong real estate sector for over 10 years at various international financial institutions, making recommendations on equity investments. 

 

Ms. Luk holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Rochester and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst. She was honoured with the titles of Best IRO by Hong Kong Investor Relations Association and Best Investor Relations Professional by Corporate Governance Asia.
